Vision Quest: Anubis

Anubis is the ancient Egyptian god of of funerary rites (including mummification), protector of graves, and guide to the underworld. He attended the “Weighing of the Heart”, in which it was determined whether a soul would be allowed to enter the realm of the dead. Anubis’ color is black, a color that symbolizes regeneration, life, and the soil of the Nile River. He is portrayed as having a jackal’s head on a human body.
