What is the crooked path?

There is a poem that illustrates the life of witchcraft within the crooked path:

There was a crooked man, who walked a crooked mile,

He found a crooked sixpence across a crooked style

He bought a crooked cat, who caught a crooked mouse

And they all lived together in a little crooked house.

In short, it means that everything can be magical if approached with a Craft frame of mind.  Many Craft practitioners are thought to walk a left-hand path also called the sinistral path.  This path is away from the divine and moving towards our humanity.  The right hand path, referred to as dextral, is the path to the Divine or Virtue.   Witches may walk the crooked path, which is a third way to approach your spiritual journey.  It represents balance and an exploration of experience and possibilities.
