Two elves, one human, and one mage linked by fate, but how?

Five hundred years ago, elven magic became chaotic and nearly destroyed the world of Vex’sar. The mage, Gor’del, was able to kill the elven leader and banish elven magic. Now, a new threat of elven magic is drawing near. Gor’del and his changeling companion, Morkar, are on the search for an elf known as “The Awakened.” Only The Awakened has the power to restore elven magic, and they must be stopped. As they search, Gor’del begins to realize that there is more to elven magic than he previously realized and that the awakened may be only a small piece to a much more complex puzzle.

Two elves, one human, and one mage linked by fate, but how?A new piece to elven magic is said to be with a race of changelings known as the Children of the Stars, only no one knows where they are. Gor’del fights his fear and joins Morkar in the search.

As Gor’del and Morkar travel, Tran learns to cope with his new condition, Sofina discovers the complexities of healing, and Mazen struggles with his new reality. Embark in the next chapter in uncovering the riddle of elven magic’s chaotic end and whether restoring it will bring destruction or balance.

Read the next installment from the award winning novel Elven Liberation: The Awakened.

Author Bio: E.W. Crandall is a fantasy author whose debut novel, Elven Liberation, won the 2024 Pencraft Award for Fantasy. She was raised in Utah, surrounded by the breathtaking Rocky Mountains, alongside her parents. From a young age, she developed a love for classic literature, including works by Jane Austen, the Brontë sisters, and Charles Dickens, to name a few. Her passion for fantasy also began in childhood, and her appreciation for character-driven narratives in both genres has greatly influenced her writing. The literary adage “character is plot, and plot is character” by C.S. Lewis perfectly encapsulates her philosophy of crafting a well-written book.

In high school, she studied Japanese, which sparked a lifelong admiration for Japanese culture and wisdom. A devoted learner, she continually strives to view the world from diverse perspectives. She earned an Associate’s degree in Psychology from Salt Lake Community College, further fueling her curiosity about human behavior.

In addition to writing, E.W. Crandall enjoys collecting natural treasures, carving simple designs into stones, sketching, playing video games, and breaking into spontaneous song. She currently resides in Utah with her cat, Memphis.

Her biggest inspirations include her parents, Suzanne and Richard, her grandmother, and her Aunt Karrie Ann, all of whom have nurtured her love for the arts and for people. You’ll often find her daydreaming with a pen and paper in hand.
