Dogma defines which rules govern your approach to your path. It is the act of exploration instead of following rigid rules. The dictionary defines dogma as a principle or set of principles laid down by an authority as incontrovertibly true. This approach, while simple, is anathema to the nature of a Witch.
While some practices provide stability and safety within firm guidelines (like ceremonial magic), the premise of Witchcraft is generally to challenge the status quo. This is sometimes referred to challenging Fate or using magical energy work to change the nature of a thing to your desires, sometimes with consequences.
If you would like a fun movie to help you understand the concept, watch the 1999 film, Dogma with Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Alannis Morrisette, Alan Rickman and Jay and Silent Bob. The story revolves around two fallen angels who plan to employ an alleged loophole in Catholic dogma to return to Heaven after being cast out by God, but as existence is founded on the principle that God is infallible, their success would prove God wrong, thus undoing all creation. It’s a classic!
