Love spells in movies are often cautionary tales to tell us the power and danger of meddling with fate. Whether it’s obsessional love in The Craft or stories of hereditary curses in Practical Magic, these films depict the danger in taking someone’s free will through a “power over” spell.
Casting love spells does often come with a cost. Once you have obtained the love of your target, can the spell be undone? What if you find that you don’t actually love them? Then have you created a love-zombie who will haunt you until the end of time?
A healthier approach, and one with little karma, is to focus spells inward for self-love, confidence, or opening yourself to receive love, rather than trying to control others without consent. These kinds of spells, where you are changing yourself, are easy to do with candle work or visualization meditation.
